JOB DESCRIPTION

FACULTY MEMBER / LECTURER / TEACHING ASSISTANT (BIOINFORMATICS)

General Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Master's Degree / Post Graduate Degree or Doctorate in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Bioinformatics / Computational Biology
• Required language(s): English
• At least 1 year of work experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Pulomas,Jakarta Timur.
• 2 Full-Time and Contract position(s) available.

Detailed Requirements:

General Qualifications:

1. Minimum Master's degree in:

A. Computer Science

Well versed in computer programming, algorithms (preferably in Python and C++), and data structures. Has an interest toward bioinformatics science and capable of deriving computational algorithms from biological problems. Familiar with biological databases (NCBI, ENA, UniProt, PDB, etc) and is experienced in establishing and managing databases.

B. Mathematics

Well versed in computational fields of mathematics (algebra, discrete mathematics, numerical methods/analysis, & calculus) or statistics (biostatistics, experimental design, and probability theories & analysis). Has an interest toward bioinformatics science and capable of deriving mathematical algorithms from biological problems.

C. Bioinformatics and Computational Biology

Well versed in the bioinformatics/computational biology-related field (biomolecule modeling and analysis; proteomic data generation and analysis; epigenetics; and metagenomics)

3. Minimum one year’s teaching experience

4. Excellent spoken & written English is a must

5. Commitment to learning and professional growth is essential

6. Good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties:

As a faculty member you will be expected to participate in pedagogical activities within and outside the campus. Moreover, you may also be required to help in developing course syllabi under supervision of more senior faculty members. In addition, you will also be expected to:

• Conduct research projects under assigned Principal Investigator’s guidance/supervision or as the Principal Investigator itself.
• Develop laboratory protocols under senior faculty member’s guidance.
• Conduct seminars or presentations for Academia and/or general public.
• Write grant proposals to obtain additional research fund.
